Javier E. Montalvo

Javier Montalvo is vice president of human resources for Southern Company Gas. In this role, he is responsible for leading the company’s talent management, diversity, equity and inclusion, labor relations, workforce compliance and HR delivery teams.

Since he began his career in 1986, Montalvo has served in a variety of HR leadership positions at multiple companies, including Georgia Power, where he served as an HR business partner from 2013-2015. In his most recent role at Superior Essex, Montalvo served as senior vice president and chief HR officer. Prior to that, Montalvo was vice president of Human Resources at Hitachi Astemo Americas, Inc.

Active in the industry and the community, Montalvo is a member of the Atlanta chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management and recently served on the Walton County United Way Board and the Northeast Georgia Workforce Development Board.

Montalvo earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Lehman College – The City University of New York and completed his HR Professional Development Certification from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
