Grace Kolvereid

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Grace Kolvereid is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Southern Company Gas. In this role, she directs finance, accounting, business planning and risk management functions for all the company’s distribution and retail businesses. Additionally, she oversees the Pipeline Investments segment of the business and served on the board of PennEast Pipeline, Horizon Pipeline and Dalton Pipeline. She also is a member of the Southern Company Gas Management Council. Southern Company Gas is a subsidiary of Southern Company.

Before assuming this role, Kolvereid was senior vice president and GAS comptroller. In that capacity, she oversaw the accounting function for Southern Company Gas, which includes all natural gas utilities, non-utility companies, corporate accounting and risk control.

Kolvereid joined Southern Company Gas in 2006 as managing director of Corporate Tax, where she implemented various tax technology and process improvement initiatives to modernize the company’s tax function. In 2010, she was promoted to vice president of Corporate Tax and served in that role until 2016 when she was promoted to senior vice president and GAS comptroller.

Prior to joining the company, Kolvereid held senior level tax positions at Delta Air Lines Inc. where she was responsible for implementing complex federal and state tax planning initiatives as well as international tax matters. She began her career in public accounting in Washington, D.C.

Kolvereid, a certified public accountant, earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in French from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. She also holds a master’s degree in taxation from American University in Washington, D.C. and is a graduate of Leadership Atlanta.

She is a member of Southern Company Gas’ Leadership, Empowerment, Acceptance, Diversity (LEAD) Council, serves as executive sponsor of Spectrum employee resource group and is a member of the American Gas Association Accounting Leadership Committee.

Kolvereid has two adult sons and resides in Brookhaven, Ga., with her husband.
